Travel Guide

Things to Do at Haneda Airport & in Tokyo

What to do while waiting at Haneda Airport

Time to spare before your flight? Terminal 3 offers more than gates and lounges: Edo-style shops and restaurants, an observation deck for plane watching — and on October 9, 2026, a one-hour live performance of Wadaiko (Japanese taiko drums), Shinobue, Tsugaru Shamisen, Shishimai and Nihon Buyo at TIAT SKY HALL on 5F. Doors open 13:00, show starts 13:30.

Things to do during a layover or transit at Haneda

On a long layover? TIAT SKY HALL is in the public area of Terminal 3, before security — so if you are able to enter Japan, it's a short walk from arrivals. Allow about one hour for the show, plus time to clear immigration and pass back through security before your next flight. Please check your visa and connection requirements first.

What to do in Tokyo

Haneda is within about 30 minutes of central Tokyo by Keikyu Line or Tokyo Monorail. From the temples of Asakusa to the crossings of Shibuya, Tokyo blends old and new. Make Tabi No Omoide your first or last taste of traditional Japan — taiko drums, bamboo flute, shamisen, lion dance and classical dance, all in one hour.

Where to experience Japanese taiko drums

Looking for a Japanese drum (Wadaiko / taiko) experience in Tokyo? At Tabi No Omoide you hear taiko live from champion performers, including a winner of the Mt. Fuji Taiko Festival Grand Taiko Championship. Several of our performers are also Wadaiko instructors — contact us about drum workshops, lessons or group taiko experiences.
